The Just shall live by faith

Faith is not just the key to salvation—it’s the anchor that keeps us steadfast in it. True, saving faith begins when we hear and receive God’s Word (Romans 10:17), but it must endure through every season of life (Matthew 24:13). There are moments when holding on feels impossible—when pressures to compromise, broken relationships, failure, pain, fear, lack, or rejection weigh heavily on our hearts. In times of deep trial or tragedy, continuing to believe can seem overwhelming.

Yet God, in His mercy, sustains us. He strengthens us to keep walking in love and choosing life, even when we feel weak. Yes, living as God’s children—thinking, speaking, and acting in alignment with His truth—is a daily challenge. But we are not left to rely on our own strength. God not only calls us to endure but also empowers us to do so. Like soldiers trained for battle, we are to stand firm in our faith, no matter the cost (2 Timothy 2:3).

Encouraging others to persevere is often easier than persevering ourselves. But God calls us to a faith that lasts—a faith refined and proven genuine through testing. Jesus has secured our victory, and in Him, we are more than conquerors (1 Corinthians 15:57). Even when circumstances are painful or confusing, we must choose to live by faith, not by sight.

When others wound us—or when we fail and wound them—we must resist bitterness and despair. God calls us to press forward, leaning on His grace. He walks with us, offering forgiveness when we stumble and restoration when we repent. We don’t have to remain shackled by guilt or worldly burdens. If we trust the God of miracles and mercy, He will renew our hearts daily and keep us faithful.

Through the Holy Spirit, God is shaping us into the likeness of Christ. He fills us with wisdom, courage, and deeper faith as we continually listen to and obey His Word (Romans 10:17). Our part is to refuse surrender, praying instead for strength to submit to His perfect will. A glorious reward awaits those who remain steadfast to the end (Hebrews 10:35).

Faith demands that we deny ourselves—our desire for approval, success, or comfort—and instead rely fully on God. This surrender isn’t easy, but it’s the path to true life. Faith requires humility, sacrifice, and wholehearted devotion to Him. And in His kingdom, such surrender leads to eternal greatness.

Faith costs us everything—yet its reward is beyond measure. We must not treat faith as a last resort but as our first and only foundation. As we wait on God, He renews our strength. Every victory, every breakthrough, comes from Him alone—and He alone deserves the glory.

So let us resolve to serve God faithfully, no matter the cost. This is the victory that overcomes the world: our faith (1 John 5:4). Scripture celebrates those who endured to the end, and God is honored through their steadfastness. He sees our faithfulness, sustains our trust, and will fulfill His good plans for us as we keep believing.

We don’t need shortcuts—we need perseverance. Even when we falter, God remains for us. Doubt is the enemy’s snare, but the righteous live by faith.

In the end, faith will prove to be worth it all, for indeed "The just shall live by faith"(Hebrews 10:38)!
