Turn To God

Is it really what you call it to be?

This fleeting pleasure, this worldly glee?

Is freedom the chains that bind your soul,

Leading you further from being whole?

Are you so desperate to lose your light,

Trading the truth for the dark of night?

Is the world so worthy, so rich, so grand,

That you’d let go of His guiding hand?

How many times must He softly knock,

Before you answer, before you stop?

How long will you leave Him standing there,

Patiently waiting while you despair?

Will you seek Him when it’s too late,

When mercy has closed the narrow gate?

This world is not where you belong—

You're but a guest, not staying long.

And when the time comes to depart,

Where will you go—what fills your heart?

Have you forgotten your Father's way,

The love He gave, the price He paid?

He sent you forth, He let you grow,

He gave His Word so you would know.

Yet He won’t force Himself on you,

The choice is yours—what will you do?

"Oh, we are young, we live just once!"

Is that the lie where you place your trust?

But life is fleeting, dust to dust,

And time runs out for each of us.

Repent, my friend, while He is near,

While grace still speaks for you to hear.

Mock if you will, but know this well—

A soul once lost is a soul in hell.

God is patient, slow to wrath,

Yet judgment walks a certain path.

How long will you keep turning away,

While mercy pleads for you to stay?

Return, return, while love still calls,

Before the final trumpet falls.

Your soul’s at stake—don’t play this game,

For only Christ can clear your name.

He loves you still, but won’t demand—

The choice is yours, so take your stand.

Turn to God while He can be found,

Before the lost hear not a sound.
