Your First Love is Calling

I fell short of God’s glory many times
I tried to flee from His presence but like Jonah, I got caught.
Caught in the belly of a fish, trapped by the sinful desires I entertained.
I was trying to battle it all on my own but the burden became too heavy.
I forgot about the promises of King Jesus, and so I looked to the world for answers,
But couldn’t find any.
I turned to the friendships but they couldn’t satisfy,
I tried the relationships and situationships but they too couldn’t fill the void in my heart.
I longed for love, but I was looking in the wrong places.
I decided to give this so called "Savior Jesus” a chance.
I brought my broken heart and my weary soul this heavy burden, I laid it at his feet.
Crying ''save me'', for I can’t save myself, heal me for I’m wounded and deliver me, for I’m headed for destruction.
He answered through Matthew 11:28-30, "come to me all who labor and are heavy burdened and I’ll give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
He healed a heart He didn’t break
Healed wounds He didn’t hurt
He brought me peace that the world couldn’t give me
Feasting over my return, the way the Father did with the prodigal son
Leaving the 99 for the one
Leading me to the path that leads to eternity.
Return to your first love beloved
He’s calling and awaiting for you.
Return to your first love while you still have time.
